What is Power Apps?
“Power Apps is a service for building and using custom business apps that connect to your data and work across the web and mobile - without the time and expense of custom software development.” Source: Microsoft
It is referred to as a “low-code” platform because we can build apps and move data between systems without writing code, or only writing small amounts of code.
The advantage of Power Apps is that it is very easy for us to add extra columns, forms and views to record data you need to track, this makes it a great choice for companies that struggle to find systems that suit they way they work.
What is Dataverse?
Microsoft Dataverse is a managed data platform that offers a unique combination of features tailored for business application development and integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365. It offers a rich set of out-of-the-box functionalities, including data management, integration, security, and governance, which are not typically provided with traditional database solutions. For small businesses, Dataverse offers several benefits. It simplifies data management by allowing businesses to integrate data from various sources into a common data model, making it easier to track, analyse, and use. Dataverse is built on Azure, ensuring global availability, compliance, security, and scalability. This provides small businesses with a robust infrastructure without the need for extensive IT resources.

How do I know Microsoft will continue to support it?
Microsoft is recognised as a leader amongst Low Code platform providers. Microsoft continue to invest significantly into the platform. Each year, there are two major release waves, although features and upgrades are rolled out continuously each month. You can read about upcoming new and enhanced functionality in their release planner.
Some of Microsoft’s own products (Dynamics 365) are built on the Power Platform.
Am I locked in to using Teal Software indefinitely?
Built low-code using Microsoft’s pre-built components, rather than a bespoke fully coded app, means anyone with sufficient Power Platform knowledge can take your solution on and add to or alter in time. You are not locked in to using Teal Software for the life of the software.
